The XXVII International Conference on Raman Spectroscopy (ICORS2020), originally scheduled from 2nd to 7th August 2020

is postponed to 1st to 6th August 2021

due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

Postponing ICORS is not a decision we have taken lightly. Since the earliest manifestations of the outbreak we have been carefully monitoring the global evolution. In an effort to have health and well-being of all the participants as our top priority, we have been considering all possible options and contingency plans. The degree of uncertainty of the pandemic evolution (and related regulations) and its heterogeneous nature, indicate that we cannot guarantee the necessary conditions to keep the conference as initially planned.

After consultation with the International Steering Committee, we set the new 2021 roadmap. Hopefully the new plan will mitigate the disappointment of all the invited speakers, registrants, and scientists who were enthusiastically looking forward to interesting and stimulating scientific discussions during the forthcoming summer in Rome.

All the Plenary, Keynote, and Invited speakers will be confirmed for the new dates.

In a fairness to those who submitted the ( 450) contributed abstracts and met all the deadlines, we will shortly send out individual notification for oral/poster acceptance, valid for the new date. The abstract platform will stay open and you will be allowed for updates (upon approval of the Program Committee) throughout 2020.

Those who have not yet finalized the registration will be offered to take advantage of the current early bird fee until 31st December 2020. Beyond this date the acceptance status of the contributed abstracts will expire. Importantly, on 15th January 2021 a new submission track for contributed abstracts will be open for those who did not participate to (or stepped back from) the 2020 call for Abstract.

The satellite event, the International sChool On Nonlinear vibrational Spectro-microscopy (ICONS), will move to an online format on the same dates, taking place from July 30th to August 1st 2020. Stay updated and check all the details at the school webpage.

Be reassured that this is just an “arrivederci”. Our motivation is stronger than ever, and our commitment to an unforgettable ICORS20/21 edition is total.
